A Dreamy Live Wedding Painting at the Powel Crosley Estate: Paige and Jacob's Styled Wedding Shoot

There are some moments in life that feel like they’re straight out of a movie, and that’s exactly how I felt while painting at the Powel Crosley Estate in Sarasota, Florida. Though Paige and Jacob weren’t actually getting married that day, the love they shared as a couple and their connection to the beautiful stylized shoot they were a part of made it feel like the most magical wedding celebration. As a live wedding painter, I had the incredible honor of capturing their love story—set against a stunning backdrop—and I can’t wait to share the joy of this perfect day with you!

It was one of those picture-perfect January days—cool, crisp, and filled with sunlight that danced off the bay. The venue itself, with its sprawling lawn, elegant architecture, and breathtaking waterfront views, set the stage for a dreamy stylized shoot designed to showcase everything a Sarasota wedding could be. Paige and Jacob, as a real-life couple, added the perfect touch of romance to this shoot, and I was over the moon to be a part of it all.

The Dreamy Details That Took My Breath Away

The florals, designed by the incredible Sarah Campbell from Intrigue Designs, were out of this world! Sarah and her talented students created arrangements that took my breath away at every turn. Soft, romantic blooms in orange, pinks and magentas, paired with earthy greenery, brought an ethereal quality to the event. The florals weren’t just beautiful; they told a story of love, freshness, and new beginnings—perfect for the stylized wedding theme.

Styled Shoots Across America played a major role in bringing this dream wedding to life with their gorgeous vision and planning. The vision? A dreamy wedding on the ocean of Sarasota Bay, infused with warm summer tones that echoed the couple’s relaxed, yet elegant style. Think soft coral & peach, golden accents, and the calm blues of the water blending seamlessly with the natural surroundings. It was truly a vision that felt like it was plucked right from a destination wedding on the coast.

Capturing It All: The Live Wedding Painting Process

As a live wedding painter, the real magic happens when you capture a moment in real-time—whether it’s a couple exchanging vows or, in this case, the essence of an imagined wedding day. The joy, the excitement, and the small details that make every wedding unique were still present, and I had the honor of immortalizing those moments on canvas.

From the moment I began painting Paige and Jacob’s portrait to the playful moments shared between them, I worked with my brush and palette, surrounded by the happy energy of the shoot. Being able to capture their love and the beauty of their day in real-time was such an incredible experience. The rush of painting with such a stunning setting and so many beautiful details was truly magical.

And the best part? I finished the painting that same evening, just as the day was winding down. There’s something so special about completing a live painting on-site, seeing it evolve as the moments unfold, and then revealing the final piece—fully capturing the essence of the day in just a few short hours.

A Keepsake for a Lifetime

For me, the joy of being a live wedding painter comes from creating something that holds emotional value for a couple—something that tells the story of their love in a way that photos can’t quite capture. It’s a memory they can hang on their wall and look back on for years to come, and I am so thankful to be able to bring that to life.
